Warren H. Feder

Having owned, operated and sold his own businesses in the past, Mr. Feder truly understands the significance of transactions and works tirelessly to close the right deals with the right buyers at the right prices. He has more than 30 years of experience directing and advising on corporate mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, sourcing of capital, and investing.

As a former owner and operator of a family business, Mr. Feder brings unique insight and perspective to owners of privately-held businesses, helping assess their strategic options. He creates customized solutions that perfectly fit each distinct situation, thus maximizing value for his clients and carrying transactions through to a successful close.

Prior to joining Carl Marks, Mr. Feder was the founder and chief executive officer of Stepping Stone Capital and its predecessor, Gordon Brothers Capital LLC, a specialty finance company that focused on short-term debt investments. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of his family-owned health and beauty aid manufacturer, growing the company toward a subsequent sale. Mr. Feder began his career practicing law at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where he specialized in corporate mergers, acquisitions, and leveraged buyouts in the firm’s New York and London offices.

Mr. Feder currently serves on the board of Trustees of The Gateway Schools where he was chairman for 12 years. He was previously a board member and treasurer of the New York Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and a board member of the Commercial Finance Association. He was also the honoree of the Accountants, Bankers, and Finance Division of the American Jewish Committee.

Mr. Feder graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Williams College, received a JD from New York University School of Law, and an MA in Philosophy from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He is a FINRA General Securities Principal.
